Tam Duc was member of the Black Company, and joined after they took refuge in Hsien, where he originated. Croaker describes him as a trainee recruit suggesting he had only joined shortly before the events in Soldiers Live. He died after falling into a crevasse, when he and number of others sled their blankets down the slopes of the Tien Myuen glacier.
