  • Come back! The project needs you!

Also I wanted to bug ya specifically about the the black castle creatures / Black Watchers.

While it is an incredible source for much-needed artwork, I don't think the Green Ronin Campaign guide is a source of in-universe information at the end of the day. It's interesting but not on the level of the novels. While I would love to have a nice capitalized proper noun ("Black Watcher") for the castle creatures, it's not in Shadows Linger. The term "castle creatures" appears plenty of times in the novel, it is definitely how Glen Cook identifies them. I don't think that should be overridden by the role-playing game guys taking their own creative license. Do you object to my moving that article?

    • Hi, sorry about the late reply. Have just uploaded some more images after trawling the web.

  • File:Cordy Mather and Lisa Bowalk.png

Is it possible this image is meant to depict Raven and Lisa, instead of Cordy and her as the file is labeled? I don't quite remember any connection between Cordy and Lisa. Also the guy is wearing a Black Company badge, so it does not seem to be Cordy.

Alternatively, could it be showing Raven and Darling?

Another picture I found in the book, showing Murgen, is the same guy. So this has to be Murgen and Lisa.

  • Those images by виталий стрелец are always great. By any chance do you have a direct rapport with the artist?

  • You're in the UK right? Over in the States, it's impossible to find Illustration pour La Compagnie noire... it's like it doesn't even exist. Even on the web. Would you be willing to grab a copy of it for me, I'll throw in a few quid on top of the expenses for your trouble?

    • I don't actually have a copy of it either :( Its an utter b*stard to get hold of given Graffet's port folio. The Maison d'Ailleurs galllery in Switzerland sells copies but they don't sell internationally. Will email them and see if they can make an exception (fingers-crossed).

Regardless of the outcome, I'm very grateful for this!

Update: some amazing people have helped me get this book straight from the source! It is very beautiful indeed; but quite a bit smaller than I was expecting. (The gallery never responded to my emails, either.)

    • Cool. Glad you were able to get a copy in the end :) Might do some more work on the wiki at some point.

  • I'm interested in changing the current infobox image for Soulcatcher, but I won't proceed without your thoughts. If you'd like I can get into the details about my thoughts on the current image. But suffice to say, I'm much more partial to the Berdak (absolutely iconic) or the Mikey Patch-Irontree (captures her insanity in the eyes like nothing I've ever seen) as replacements. I hope you're OK with it!

    • Don't mind you changing it. Of the two would go with Berdak (also saves cropping images). Was thinking of expanding Catchers page anyway as glittering stone details are non-existant.

I went with the Irontree fan art until we get a Berdak that has been adjusted for brightness. (I can do it on a particular computer, just not this one for the time being.)

  • Which book had One-Eye's chapter as annalist? Also, were there any other novels where there was a "guest annalist" like this. (For example Soldiers Live, which had Shukrat and Arkana writing at the very end.)

    • Will have a look, think its bleak seasons. Also, I dont recall any other guest annalists in the series, but could be wrong.

You're right, it was Bleak Seasons! Chapter 32. I've updated the novel article to reflect it. Thank you,

  • Any idea what to call Croaker/Lady's home world? It would be helpful to nail down an article name for it like we did for the conjectural titles of Northern Continent and Southern Continent. I really don't like "Croaker's world" but god help me it's the only thing that comes to mind. Maybe "Home world"? I doubt it but was there any name mention in the actual novels?

      Loading editor
    • OK nevermind... good news! I found it... Croaker refers to it as the "homeworld" more than once in Soldiers Live. He does use the term once in reference to another world ("Arkana's homeworld") but it's very safe to use it as the name for his world.
