Marsha the Devastator is an apparently forgotten goddess who was worshiped in rituals of human sacrifice near the northern shore of the southern continent in the distant past. The ruins of her temple city are far to the east of Beryl, the most ancient of the Jewel Cities. She and her abandoned temple are mentioned just once, in The Silver Spike.

Marsha the Devastator's temple is the eighth specified location in the long, overland odyssey traveled by the demon called Toadkiller Dog, who was following the trail of his new enemy, the Limper. Toadkiller Dog reached the goddess's temple after swimming the River Bigotes and the Hyclades, and after traversing the Rani Poor desert, the burial mounds of Barbara, the forgotten highways of Laba Larada, the ruins of Khun, and the Canyons of the Undead. Then:

Warily, he circled the remnants of the temple city of Marsha the Devastator, where the air still shimmered with the cries of sacrifices whose hearts had been torn out on the altars of an aloof and disdainful goddess.

He then continued eastward, crossing, in order: the populated province of Karsus; the Plain of Dano-Patha; the Mountains of Sinjian; and finally, the Straits of Angine and onward into the northern continent, to the Tower at Charm.

There is no indication in the Annals that Marsha the Devastator was anything other than a mythological character.
