Black Company Wiki

Khucho was a member of the Nar, the elite military class in the city of Gea-Xle. He joined Mogaba and 31 other Nar on the Black Company's pilgrimage back to their roots in Shadow Games. He was a combatant of the Shadowmaster wars: first, as a member of the Company; then, after defecting with Mogaba, as a leader of the Shadowlanders.

At Battle of Dejagore, once Shadowspinner and his army appeared, the Company and the Nar were driven into the city with Mogaba's surviving Taglian forces. Khucho endured the Siege of Dejagore with them. Trapped in the city, he joined the Nar faction out of loyalty to Mogaba, whereas the Old Crew (Murgen, One-Eye, Goblin, Big Bucket, and others) distanced themselves from the Nar. Khucho was presumably one of the handful of Nar who participated in cannibalism with Mogaba at this time. Others, like Sindawe, did not. When Croaker finally entered the city and met Mogaba in public, Mogaba watched as Sindawe and a dozen of the remaining Nar crossed over to Croaker. Mogaba actually asked to be executed but Croaker refused to do so. When Mogaba left, Khucho was one of only three Nar who left with him. Mogaba, Khucho, and the other two would go on to defect to Longshadow, the last remaining Shadowmaster.

Khucho fought at the Battle of Charandaprash but was grievously wounded there or during the fighting withdrawal afterward. One of his legs was amputated. Carried on a stretcher, he was among the masses of Shadowlander forces that fled back through the Plain of Charandaprash and through the Dandha Presh mountain range. South of the mountains, his outfit was one of the many that were ambushed by Goblin's "Shaded Road" expedition, and he was killed in his stretcher. He was the last of Mogaba's Nar.
