Keep-off-me is the name of a primitive magic spell used by the inexperienced witch Chasing Midnight in "Bone Eaters" and "Chasing Midnight: The Dark Lord as a Teen", the final pair of short stories in the On The Long Run story arc.

The spell is a rape-repellent that causes impotence in male attackers. Chasing Midnight used keep-off-me rapidly and effectively when Rusty, a widely-hated new recruit to the Black Company, attempted to rape her in the hinterland west of the Village of Hungry Ghosts. She later explained to Croaker that it was her first spell. She had developed it out of necessity, to foil her abusive older brother, the unnamed young man who was chased away by Goblin's disgusting illusion in the opening of "Bone Eaters". She considered it "essential for sanity and survival for the only girl in a pack of teenage bandits".

Later in the city of Rue – in the short story named after her – Chasing Midnight would use the same spell during a frightening encounter with the mysterious sorcerer called Black Shroud. She also layered it with get small, another primitive sorcery. It seemed to work, as Black Shroud did not notice her at that moment.
