[Bomanz] could have become a man of consequence in Oar. He could have given [Jasmine] a great house overstuffed with fawning servants. He could have draped her in cloth-of-gold. He could have fed her tumble-down fat with meat at every meal. Instead, he had chosen a scholar's life, disguising his name and profession, dragging her to this bleak, haunted break in the Old Forest. He had given her nothing but squalor, icy winters, and indignities perpetrated by the Eternal Guard.

The White Rose

Jasmine was the wife of the wizard Bomanz and the mother of their only son, Stancil. She was the primary source of the Bomanz biographic narrative that was sent by Case, on Raven's, orders to Croaker in the Plain of Fear during The White Rose.

The White Rose[]

Jasmine was born to a family from Oar, the biggest city in Forsberg, and her native tongue was Forsberger. She married Bomanz against the advice of her mother. Jasmine knew that Bomanz's true name was Seth Chalk, and that he attended the Black Campus of the university of Oar. Although they could have stayed in Oar and lived lives of consequence, he persuaded her of his dream of learning arcane secrets from the Lady. Jasmine moved with him north, to the Great Forest, into the community of the Eternal Guard outside the Barrowland. They remained there for a total of 37 years, during which Bomanz had no success in fulfilling his dream. Her disappointment for having misspent her life with Bomanz in the frigid forest caused her to endlessly nag her husband. However, she genuinely loved him and never betrayed him to the Guard.

They had one child, a son named Stancil. After the boy came of age, he took an interest in the Domination, just as his father had. Jasmine was hurt that her son might fritter away his life in a similar manner. Her fears would be justified, as Stancil turned out to be a key member of the Resurrectionists.

On the night that the Resurrectionists attempted to liberate the Dominator, they clashed with the Eternal Guard, throwing the world around Jasmine into terrifying chaos. Unknown to Jasmine, her husband chose to kill their son in an effort to prevent the liberation. When a Resurrectionist held a knife to Jasmine's throat, two Guardsmen attempted to stop the man. Bomanz killed all three men and ordered Jasmine to flee from the area with Snoopy, the kid sister of Tokar. She watched her husband walk toward the Barrowland, which was now a source of earthquakes as the Ten Who Were Taken escaped their barrows. She attempted to stop him but he walked straight into the flames of the dragon. This would be the last time she saw her husband, although she could not know that he survived, albeit preserved in an unconscious stasis below the earth.

Jasmine, now "widowed and shamed" and also without her son, made her way southward to Oar and apparently beyond. Nothing further about her fate is recorded in the Annals. The Lady would later state her belief that Jasmine somehow must have gained possession of the carved chest containing the Barrowland amulets.
