The Avenue of the Older Empire was a major thoroughfare in the northern part of the Jewel City of Beryl. It was notable for its memorials created by the city's past Emperors celebrating their triumphs as well as bizarre minutiae such as their favorite horses, gladiators, and lovers of either sex.
The Black Company[]
After departing the Bastion for the last time, the Captain of the Black Company took his fighting men north on the Avenue of the Older Empire toward the Rubbish Gate. There, they silently invaded the Fork Barracks, and with the help of Goblin's sleep spell, murdered hundreds of sleeping soldiers of the Urban Cohorts.
