The Aloen temple of Occupoa is a significant landmark in the prosperous city of Aloe in the eastern region of the northern continent. It is a huge, domed, concrete beehive structure over eighty feet high that houses the local chapter of the Occupoa cult. It may be the largest structure associated with the cult, which is widespread and has numerous other temples outside of Aloe. It looms over tenements, a wonder of engineering largely ignored by the locals. The Temple is home to at least 16 women of various ages who are experienced holy prostitutes. One elderly beadle was tasked with keeping an eye on the donation box at the entrance. The women are literate and teach their successors modern written Aloen, as well as the ancient languages Levanev, Khansai, and Margelin so they can read the sacred texts of the cult.
After Aloe is annexed by the Lady's Empire, the Lady orders the Black Company to arrest one of the temple girls, Tides Elba. These orders are carried out by Elmo, Croaker, Goblin, Silent, Tuco, and Reams. The locals would later complain about the violation of the Temple, but not about the arrest of Tides Elba.
